Sunray was delighted to host a visit from Damian Green (Conservative MP for Ashford), Jo James (Chief Executive of the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce) and Andrew Osborne (Economic Development Manager, Ashford Borough Council).

Guests were given a guided tour around the Sunray factory to meet the people behind the industry. Sunray also invited Damian Green to experience first-hand the vigorous testing procedures used to produce some of the highest security rated doors used within high security government facilities.

“Apart from having great fun on my visit to Sunray trying (and failing) to smash their security glass,” says Damian, “I was delighted to see such top of the range technology being developed in Ashford. Sunray is clearly going from strength to strength, and I wish them well for the future.”

Damian Green, who was recently appointed Immigration Minister in the newly formed Conservative – Liberal Democrat coalition government, was invited to visit Sunray as part of the Defence Industries Council’s Defence Matters campaign. The campaign aims to increase awareness about the defence industries’ integral role in the development of manufacturing and engineering within the UK.

Sunray security rated steel doors are used to protect government, commercial and industrial premises both in the UK and abroad. Doors are manufactured to the requirements of LPCB LPS 1175 test standards in order to meet the security needs of the MOD and other secure environments. Sunray has the largest range of LPCB approved doors and locking system combinations available in the marketplace today: a comprehensive R&D programme ensures Sunray maintains its market leading position.
