Specifying ventilation into a fire compartment has usually meant accepting a compromise somewhere, whether in free area, in fire integrity or in security. The fully louvred SR2 FR doorset is built to remove it, ventilating the opening through a fully bladed leaf while maintaining fire integrity for durations up to 90 minutes, tested to BS EN 1634-1 and classified in accordance with EN 13501-2, and certified to Loss Prevention Standard LPS 1175 Issue 8 at Security Rating 2 (B3). Plant rooms, substations, switch rooms and riser cupboards can therefore be ventilated without weakening either fire compartmentation or the security line.

Doorsets are available in single, double and leaf-and-a-half configurations, opening outward, to suit structural openings ranging from 430mm wide by 1000mm high for a single leaf up to 2400mm wide by 2400mm high for a double, with the achievable range depending on configuration and rating. Each 50mm leaf is fabricated from 50 x 65 x 5mm mild steel angle with 2.5mm louvre blades set at a 49 degree angle, backed by fire block panels and anti-vermin mesh, and hung on a minimum of three factory assembled lift off hinges so that fitting on site remains straightforward. Rear concealed fixings keep the face clean and allow the doorset to sit alongside the wider Sunray louvre range without a visual break.
